Temporary Ticker Code Changes (Example: SOL → SOLDA → SOL)

How to handle temporary ticker code changes in Navexa (like SOL → SOLDA → SOL) during mergers or deferred settlement periods.

What is a temporary ticker code change?

Sometimes, a company’s ticker changes only for a short period — usually during a merger, restructure, or deferred settlement. After the transition, the ticker reverts back to the original code.

Example:

  • Washington H. Soul Pattinson (ASX: SOL) changed to SOLDA during its merger with Brickworks in September 2025.

  • By 25 September 2025, SOLDA reverts back to SOL.

What this means for Navexa users

If you hold a stock going through a temporary ticker change, you have two options:

  1. If you don’t plan to trade during the temporary period:

    • You don’t need to change anything in Navexa.

    • Your SOL holding will stop updating briefly, but will resume once it reverts back to SOL.

  2. If you do trade during the temporary period (e.g., buy or sell SOLDA):

    • Go to your SOL holding.

    • Use Actions → Rename Symbol and update it to SOLDA.

    • This keeps your trade history and performance intact.

    • When the ticker reverts to SOL, use the Rename Symbol tool to change the ticker back manually.

Key Point

  • No action needed if you’re just holding and don’t mind a short data pause.

  • Update the ticker if you’re trading during the temporary period.
