This guide helps you import your CommSec (ASX domestic) trade history into Navexa in minutes using a CSV export from CommSec.
Note: This guide is for standard CommSec (ASX domestic) accounts. If you use CommSec International, follow the CommSec International import guide instead.
Before You Start
Use a desktop browser (the Confirmations export is easiest on a desktop computer).
If you have multiple CommSec accounts, export one at a time.
Choose a date range that covers your full history (we recommend from your first trade to today).
Save the file in a location easy to find (e.g., Downloads).
Direct link (login required): https://www2.commsec.com.au/Private/MyPortfolio/Confirmations/Confirmations.aspx
Step 1: Open the Confirmations page in CommSec
Step 2: Choose the correct account and date range
In Account, select the CommSec account you want to export (this is important if you have multiple accounts).
Tick Buy and Sell (if they’re not already selected).
Set (type or pick) the From date for the period you want to export.
Set the To date for the period you want to export.
Click Search to load the confirmations for that range.
Tip: For a full-history import, set your From date to the earliest available date.
Step 3: Download the Confirmations CSV
Step 4: Import the CSV into Navexa
In Navexa, click Add holdings → Import From Broker/Account.
Search for and select CommSec (not CommSec International).
Choose CSV File Upload.
Drag and drop the file (or click Browse Files) and upload.
Review the import preview and confirm to finish.
Drag and drop your CommSec CSV file (or click Browse Files), then click Upload File.
Review and confirm the import. Click Save.
What this import includes
This export is designed to capture your trade confirmations (typically buys and sells).
If you also need cash movements or other non-trade activity tracked, add those separately in Navexa where needed.
Important notes
Transfers from another broker
If you transferred holdings into CommSec from another broker, those original trades may not exist in CommSec confirmations. In that case, you’ll need to import history from the original broker source or manually add the missing opening position.
Multiple exports
If you need multiple CSVs (due to long history):
Import them one at a time
Use non-overlapping date ranges to avoid duplicate trades
Troubleshooting
I can’t find Confirmations or the Download CSV link
Confirm you’re in Trade → Manage Orders → Confirmations (not the Portfolio area).
Try a different desktop browser, or temporarily disable extensions that may hide page elements.
My export is empty or missing trades
Click Search again after changing the date range.
Expand the date range and retry.
If you have multiple CommSec accounts, confirm you’re viewing the correct one before exporting.
The file won’t import / it saved as the wrong format
Navexa needs a .csv file.
If Excel opened it and you re-saved, make sure it is CSV (Comma delimited) and the filename ends in .csv.
I imported duplicates
This usually happens when date ranges overlap.
Delete the duplicate trades in Navexa, then re-import using non-overlapping ranges.
Next steps: Cash accounts and dividends (optional)
Cash accounts (portfolio cash tracking)
The CommSec Confirmations CSV is designed for buy/sell trades. It won’t import bank deposits/withdrawals or give you a live bank balance.
If you want Navexa to track portfolio cash, create a Cash Account (it’s an internal ledger, not a bank connection).
Then you can enable Automating Cash Transactions so buys, sells, and income automatically create matching cash movements in that cash account.
Read this guide for further help to set this up:

Dividends (income tracking)
Once your trades are imported, Navexa will automatically calculate most dividends on supported holdings, and you can Confirm them to lock in the amount.
If you ever need to manually adjust or enter one, use this guide:
