Overview
This guide shows you how to export your trades from nabtrade’s new web platform as a CSV file and import them into Navexa.
You will export the file from the Confirmations area on nabtrade, then upload it to Navexa using the nabtrade File Importer.
Before you start
Make sure:
You can log in to nabtrade on a desktop browser.
You know which trading account you want to export.
You have a Navexa portfolio ready to receive the trades.
You save the CSV file somewhere easy to find, such as Downloads or Desktop.
Step 1 – Open the Portfolio Snapshot page
Log in to nabtrade on the web platform.
In the top navigation, go to Portfolio.
Click Portfolio Snapshot.
You should now see the Portfolio Snapshot screen with your Portfolio summary and My trading accounts.
Step 2 – Select the trading account
Under Portfolio summary:
Look for the My trading accounts section.
Click the trading account you want to export confirmations for.
This loads the details for that specific account.
Step 3 – Open the Confirmations tab
On the trading account page:
Scroll down to the bottom area where you see Domestic holdings or International holdings.
Within that holdings area, click the Confirmations tab.
You should now see a list of trade confirmations for that account and market.
Step 4 – Export the CSV file
Above the Confirmations list:
If you have multiple trading accounts, or both Domestic and International holdings, repeat the export for each one you want to import into Navexa.
Step 5 – Import the CSV into Navexa
In Navexa:
Log in and open the portfolio where you want the trades.
Go to + Add Holdings at the top right, then choose Import from Broker/Account.
Search for and select nab trade.
Drag and drop your nabtrade CSV file into the upload area, or click Browse files and select it.
Start the import and wait for it to complete.
Review your holdings under Portfolio → Holdings to confirm everything looks correct.
You can repeat the upload for each CSV file you exported from nabtrade.
What gets imported
Navexa maps the data based on the specific column headers found in the official nabtrade CSV export. We automatically import the following fields:
Date
Confirmation No.
Code
Quantity
Action
Avg. price
Fees
Settl. value
Here is what one trade exported in the nabtrade csv looks like:
After import, you can edit any trade in Navexa if needed (for example, to add notes or adjust specific details).
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do not modify the CSV file. For the importer to work correctly, you must use the raw CSV export exactly as nabtrade produces it.
nab confirmation Do not change the column labels: The headers must match the list above exactly.
Do not add extra lines: Do not add summaries, totals, or blank rows to the file.
Do not re-save in a different format: Keep the file as a standard CSV.
Modifying the file structure will cause the import to fail.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see the Confirmations tab
Confirm you are on the web-based platform, not a mobile app.
Make sure you have selected a trading account under Portfolio Snapshot.
Scroll down to the Holdings section (it will be labelled either 'Domestic' or 'International').
The Export CSV button is missing or greyed out
Try a different date range or filter if available.
Temporarily disable pop-up blockers or extensions that might block downloads.
If the issue persists, check with nabtrade support in case there are account restrictions.
Some trades are missing in Navexa
Check that the date range shown in the Confirmations list covered all the trades you expected.
If you have multiple trading accounts, export and import a CSV for each one.
Re-upload a corrected CSV if you had to adjust filters in nabtrade.
I get an error when using the nabtrade CSV importer
Verify the source: Ensure you exported the file specifically from the Confirmations tab as outlined in this article. Exports from other sections (like Transaction History) will not work.
Do not modify the file: The importer requires the raw data exactly as nabtrade provides it. Do not change column headers, do not re-save the file in a different format, and ensure there are no extra empty lines or summary rows added.
Contact Support: If you still experience issues, please open the support chat. Be sure to attach both a screenshot of the error message and the actual CSV file you are trying to import so we can investigate.
This is all you need to export trade confirmations from the new nabtrade platform and load them into Navexa using the nabtrade File Importer.
