Connect Navexa to Claude or ChatGPT so you can ask questions about your portfolio, run reports, and analyse your holdings using your AI assistant.
Navexa connects to AI assistants using MCP, which stands for Model Context Protocol. MCP is a secure connection method that lets an AI assistant read approved data and use approved tools from another platform.
You only need to set this up once.
What You Need
Before connecting Navexa to Claude or ChatGPT, make sure you have:
An active Navexa account
Claude, or a ChatGPT plan that supports custom apps or connectors
Access to your Navexa login details
The Navexa MCP connector address is:
https://mcp.navexa.com/mcp
You’ll use this address when setting up the connector in Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect With Claude
The three walkthroughs below show how to connect Navexa in Claude. They use example account and portfolio information.
1. Add Navexa as a Custom Connector
Open Claude on the web or in the desktop app. Select Customize, then Connectors. Select Add (or + Add), then Add custom connector.
Enter these details:

MCP server URL:
https://mcp.navexa.com/mcp
Select Continue. Claude checks the server and displays its authentication settings. In the walkthrough, Sign in now and Register automatically are selected. Review the detected settings, then select Add.
2. Log In to Navexa
Select Connect beside Navexa. In the sign-in window, log in using your Navexa account and complete any access approval shown.
A tick beside Navexa shows that the connector is connected.
3. Ask About Your Portfolio
Start a new chat. Open the + menu, then Connectors, and check that Navexa is enabled.
Ask your question, such as “What is my Main portfolio worth?”, using your own portfolio’s name.
If Claude asks to use a Navexa tool, review the request and select Allow once to approve that use. Claude may request approval for more than one tool.

Connect With ChatGPT
The three walkthroughs below show how to connect Navexa in ChatGPT. They use example account and portfolio information.
1. Add Navexa as a Custom MCP Server
Open ChatGPT in a web browser. Select Plugins in the sidebar, then Add (or the + button) and Add custom MCP server.
Enter these details:

Server URL:
https://mcp.navexa.com/mcpAuthentication: OAuth
Read the acknowledgement, select I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
2. Log In to Navexa
In the Connect Navexa window, select Continue to Navexa and log in using your Navexa account.
Navexa will appear under Personal in ChatGPT’s plugins. Open Navexa and install the plugin if it is not already installed.
3. Ask About Your Portfolio
Start a new chat. If your workspace offers Chat and Work modes, choose Work. Type @Navexa, select the Navexa plugin, then enter your question.
For example, ask “Chart my Main portfolio over 6 years”, using your own portfolio’s name.
ChatGPT’s wording and available controls may vary depending on your plan and workspace settings.
Try Asking Questions
After connecting Navexa, you can ask your AI assistant questions like:
“What’s my portfolio worth today?”
“Show my best and worst performers this financial year.”
“Run a capital gains tax report for FY2024.”
“How much dividend income did I receive last financial year?”
“What would my capital gain be if I sold 100 CBA shares?”
Your assistant reads your live Navexa data to answer. Depending on the access mode and tools enabled, it may also be able to record trades, update holdings, or run specific portfolio reports when you ask.
Control What Your Assistant Can Do
The standard connector gives your assistant access to the supported Navexa MCP tools.

For most customers, the standard setup above is the simplest option.
Your Data Stays Yours
When you connect Navexa to Claude or ChatGPT, you log in using your own Navexa account.
Your assistant can only access the Navexa data and tools available to your account and approved connection. You can disconnect Navexa at any time from your assistant’s Connectors, Apps, or Apps & Connectors settings.
