FAQs

Do I need to allocate the full $100,000 in Stock Genius?

No. Any amount you don’t allocate remains as cash in your Stock Genius portfolio. Just make sure you still end up with exactly 10 holdings (stocks and/or ETFs).

I bought my 10 stocks, but didn’t use all $100,000. How do I allocate the rest?

If your portfolio isn’t locked yet, you can allocate more by increasing the position size of one or more existing holdings. Because holdings can’t be edited directly, the way to do this is:

  • Delete the holding you want to change

  • Add it again with the updated quantity (so it uses more of your remaining cash)

Where does my leftover money go?

Leftover money stays as cash inside your Stock Genius portfolio. It will still appear in the portfolio, but it won’t move with any stock price changes.

Can I edit a Stock Genius trade or holding (quantity, weighting, ticker)?

No. Stock Genius holdings can’t be edited. The only way to change a holding is to delete it and re-add it (before the portfolio locks).

Can I swap one Stock Genius stock for another?

Not directly. You must delete the holding you no longer want, then add the new holding, before the portfolio locks.

Can I delete my whole Stock Genius portfolio and start again?

No. You must delete holdings one-by-one (before the portfolio locks).

How do I SELL my Stock Genius holding?

You can't SELL a Stock Genius holding. If you want to change it before the locked period starts, then you'll need to delete that holding and re-add it. If it's after the locked period, that means the holding is locked until the end of the competition/challenge.

When does my Stock Genius portfolio lock?

The Entry Period ended midnight 31 January 2026 (AEDT), and tracking has started. The Stock Genius portfolio is now locked; no changes are allowed.

What happens if I still have unallocated cash when the portfolio locks?

Your unallocated cash stays as cash, and your portfolio will be locked exactly as-is. Portfolios that are not fully allocated cannot change their holdings or weightings after the Entry Period.

How many holdings do I need in Stock Genius?

You must hold exactly 10 stocks (stocks and/or ETFs).

Are ETFs allowed in Stock Genius?

Yes. Stock Genius supports stocks and/or ETFs, as long as you still have exactly 10 holdings.

Which markets are supported in Stock Genius?

ASX plus US markets (NYSE, NASDAQ).

How is Stock Genius scored?

Winners are determined by portfolio return percentage (total return).

Do dividends and corporate actions count in Stock Genius performance?

Yes. Portfolios are measured in total return (income plus growth), and corporate actions (like splits and dividends) are handled under Navexa’s methodology for the challenge.

Where can I see the Stock Genius leaderboard?

The Stock Genius leaderboard is hosted on the Stock Genius website. https://www.stockgenius.com.au/

Where are the official Stock Genius rules?

The official rules are published on the Stock Genius website, and Navexa’s Help Center links to them as the source of truth. https://www.stockgenius.com.au/rules

Is there a prize for the Stock Genius Challenge?

No.

When is performance measured for the competition? Do pre-lock gains or drops count?

No. Performance is measured from the lock date onwards.
Any price movement before the portfolio locks doesn’t count, even if you added the holding earlier.
