How To Add a Delisted Stock

Sometimes you may need to record a stock that’s been delisted — usually to process a corporate action such as a merger, acquisition or demerger.

Once a stock delists, our data provider stops sending updates. This means you can’t add it through the standard Add Holding option in Navexa.

However, there’s a workaround:

Steps to Add a Delisted Stock

  1. Prepare a spreadsheet with the delisted stock details.
    • Include the ticker, exchange/market code, trade date, quantity and price.

  2. Go to your Navexa portfolio and choose Import Spreadsheet.

  3. Upload your file.
    • In most cases, this will bypass the missing data issue and let you add the stock.

  4. Once the holding appears in your portfolio, you can complete the required corporate action.

Spreadsheet Template for Delisted Stocks

You can download and fill in the spreadsheet template (see bottom of this article) for quicker setup. Once complete, upload it through Import Spreadsheet in your portfolio.

When importing a delisted stock via spreadsheet, make sure your file includes the following columns:

Symbol — The stock ticker (e.g. CNW).
Exchange — The exchange code (e.g. ASX).
Trade Date — The date of the trade (format: YYYY-MM-DD).
Trade Type — The action (e.g. BUY, SELL).
Price — Price per share at the time of trade.
Quantity — Number of units traded.
Fee — Brokerage or transaction fee (optional).
Exchange Rate — Only required if the trade was in a foreign currency.
Brokerage Currency Code — Currency code if fees were paid in another currency.
Notes — Any extra information you’d like to record.

You can download and fill in the spreadsheet template (see bottom of this article) for quicker setup.

Once complete, upload it through Import Spreadsheet in your portfolio. (See Import Holdings From a Spreadsheet).
