Use the Portfolio page controls to focus on specific holdings, categories, periods or position types when analysing your portfolio.
Open the Portfolio Page
Select Portfolio from the left-hand menu.
The controls above the performance chart include:
Filter holdings
The date-range selector, such as All time
Filter
The position selector, such as All Positions
These controls change the performance figures and chart shown on the Portfolio page. They don’t edit or delete your underlying portfolio data.
Filter Holdings Quickly
Use Filter holdings when you want to analyse one specific investment.
Select Filter holdings.
Start typing the holding name or ticker symbol.
Select the holding from the results.
The performance figures and chart will update for the selected holding.
Remove the holding selection to return to the broader portfolio view.
Apply Detailed Filters
Use Filter when you want to analyse part of your portfolio using one or more criteria.
Available criteria can include:
Holding
Exchange
Sector
Industry
Currency
Holding type
Broker or source
Custom group
To apply a filter:
Select Filter.
Choose the field you want to filter by.
Select the relevant value or condition.
Add another rule if you need to narrow the results further.
Select Apply filters.
Active filters appear above the chart. Remove an individual filter to broaden the results, or clear the filters to return to the full portfolio.
For example, you could filter your portfolio to show:
Holdings in the Financials sector.
Investments traded on the ASX.
Holdings assigned to a particular Custom Group.
All holdings except one selected investment.
Choose Position Scope
Use the position selector to control whether closed investments are included in the analysis.
All Positions includes open and closed positions.
Open Positions Only limits the view to positions that remain open.
This selection can change the performance figures and chart. If an investment appears to be missing, check the position selector first.
Change the Date Range
The date-range selector controls the period used for the Portfolio page calculations.
You can choose options such as:
All time
A financial year
A recent period
A custom date range
Changing the date range can recalculate performance and affect whether a position appears open or closed for that period.
Adjust the Holdings Table
The holdings table has separate display controls below the chart.
You can:
Use the grouping selector to organise holdings by holding type, broker, account, sector, industry, risk profile or custom group.
Use Hide Closed to remove closed positions from the table.
Use Columns to choose which values appear.
Switch between portfolio and local currency views where available.
These controls change how the holdings table is displayed. They don’t change your transactions or portfolio history.
Clear Unexpected Filters
If your portfolio figures or chart look different from what you expected:
Remove any selected holdings.
Clear the detailed filters.
Select All Positions.
Change the date range to All time.
Other Navexa pages, including Transactions and performance reports, have their own search, filter and date controls. Check the controls on the page you’re currently viewing.
