Exporting Your Holdings List

Quick guide to exporting your portfolio holdings in Navexa as an Excel spreadsheet or PDF file.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Use the Export button on your Portfolio → Holdings table to download a copy of your holdings list as an Excel (.xlsx) spreadsheet or a PDF (.pdf).

When to use this

  • Share a point‑in‑time snapshot of your holdings

  • Do quick printouts (PDF)

  • Do deeper analysis in Excel/Google Sheets (XLSX)

How to export (web app)

  1. In Navexa, open the Portfolio tab in the top navigation.

  2. Scroll down to the Holdings section.

  3. On the right‑hand side above the Holdings table, select Export.

  4. Choose a file type: Excel (.xlsx) or PDF (.pdf).

  5. Your file will download to your device via your browser’s normal downloads flow.

File type details

Excel (.xlsx)
Best for editing, filtering, and analysis. Open with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers.

PDF (.pdf)
Best for sharing and printing. Preserves the on‑screen layout of your holdings table.

What’s included in the export

The export contains one row per holding, matching the Holdings table on the Portfolio page.

By default, the export can include the following columns (depending on what you have ticked in the columns menu):

  • Symbol / name

  • Symbol

  • Price

  • Avg Buy Price

  • Quantity

  • Value

  • Capital Gain

  • Capital Gain % (p.a.)

  • Income Return

  • Income Return % (p.a.)

  • Currency Gain

  • Currency Gain % (p.a.)

  • Total Return

  • Total Return % (p.a.)

  • Dividend Reinvestment

  • Weighting

Column order and values match what you see in the app at the time of export.

Important: This export is a high-level holdings summary.

It does not include parcel-by-parcel cost base, trade history or detailed CGT tax fields.

For detailed cost base and CGT reporting, use Navexa’s tax and valuation reports instead.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing happens when I click Export
Check your browser’s download permissions and pop‑up/download blockers. Try refreshing the page or using another browser.

  • The file won’t open
    • XLSX: Ensure you’re opening it with Excel/Sheets/Numbers.
    • PDF: Use a PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat or your browser.

  • I can’t find the downloaded file
Check your browser’s default download folder (often Downloads). Use your system search for the filename.
