How to Enable or Edit DRP for a Specific Dividend in Navexa

Record, edit or remove Dividend Reinvestment Plan details for one dividend in Navexa without enabling automatic DRP for the entire holding.

Use this guide to record the actual Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP) outcome for one dividend without changing the automatic DRP setting for the whole holding.

Before You Start

Use the individual dividend editor when only one or some dividends were reinvested.

This method is best when your broker or share registry has confirmed the final:

  • Number of shares or units allocated.

  • Reinvestment price used.

The individual dividend editor does not let you select a DRP calculation method, such as rounding down or balance tracking. It records the actual outcome of that specific payment instead.

To have Navexa calculate reinvestments across a holding using a selected DRP method, configure automatic DRP from the holding’s Settings tab.

Enable DRP For One Dividend

To record an individual dividend as reinvested:

  1. Select Portfolio from the left-hand menu.

  2. Open the holding that paid the dividend.

  3. Select the Income tab.

  4. Find the dividend or distribution you want to update.

  5. Select the three dots () beside the income item.

  6. Select Edit.

The Edit Dividend panel opens on the right-hand side of the screen.

  1. Expand Additional Fields.

  2. Tick Dividend Reinvested.

  3. Enter the final Number of Shares allocated.

  4. Enter the final Share Price used for the reinvestment.

  5. Select Save Changes.

Navexa will record that specific payment as a dividend reinvestment.

Check The Reinvestment Details

Check the Number of Shares and Share Price against your broker or share registry statement before saving.

Navexa may display a suggested DRP Price beneath the Share Price field. Use the final price and allocation shown on your statement where available.

Don’t estimate the number of shares using a rounding method if the final allocation is available from the registry.

Why There Is No DRP Setting

The individual dividend editor records the final result of one reinvestment. It does not calculate that result using a holding-level DRP method.

You therefore cannot select:

  • Round Down

  • Round Up

  • Round to Nearest

  • Round Down with Balance Tracking

These settings are available when automatic DRP is enabled for the entire holding.

Because no DRP method is selected in the individual dividend panel, use your registry statement to record the actual allocation. Don’t use this method to calculate or manage a carried-forward balance.

Edit Existing DRP Details

You can correct the reinvestment details if the quantity or price does not match your statement.

To edit an existing DRP entry:

  1. Open the holding’s Income tab.

  2. Select the three dots () beside the relevant dividend.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Expand Additional Fields.

  5. Check that Dividend Reinvested is selected.

  6. Update the Number of Shares or Share Price.

  7. Select Save Changes.

Navexa will update the reinvestment details for that dividend.

Remove DRP From One Dividend

To stop treating an individual dividend as reinvested:

  1. Open the dividend in the Edit Dividend panel.

  2. Expand Additional Fields.

  3. Untick Dividend Reinvested.

  4. Select Save Changes.

This only changes the selected dividend. It does not change the automatic DRP setting for the holding.

Reset A Dividend

Use Reset dividend when an automatically created dividend has been manually changed and you want Navexa to reload its available source data.

To reset a dividend:

  1. Open the holding’s Income tab.

  2. Select the three dots () beside the dividend.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. Select Reset dividend at the bottom of the panel.

Resetting removes manual changes and restores the income item from Navexa’s available source data, where available.

Reset dividend is not the same as removing DRP. To remove DRP from that payment, untick Dividend Reinvested and select Save Changes.

Automatic DRP For A Holding

Use automatic DRP when Navexa should calculate reinvestments across the holding using a selected rounding method.

Automatic DRP is configured from the holding’s Settings tab under Auto Dividend Reinvestment.

Before enabling automatic DRP, confirm any existing dividends that should remain unaffected. Enabling automatic DRP creates a Dividend Reinvestment trade for every unconfirmed dividend on the holding.
