This guide explains why Superhero dividend amounts or dates can differ from Navexa, and how to record a later purchase made with dividend cash.
How Superhero Pays Dividends
Superhero pays eligible dividends and income as cash into your Superhero Wallet. Australian income is paid into the AUD Wallet, while US income is paid into the USD Wallet.
Superhero states that dividends are generally paid into the Wallet within two business days after the payment date. You can review paid dividend activity in the Activity tab.
Superhero Does Not Offer DRP
Superhero does not offer a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRP).
A DRP is an issuer-operated plan that uses a dividend or distribution to allocate additional units. Superhero does not automatically use dividend cash to buy more shares through an issuer DRP.
If you later use cash from your Superhero Wallet to buy shares, that is a separate buy trade rather than a DRP allocation.
Record A Later Purchase
When you use dividend cash to buy more of an investment, record the income payment and the buy trade as two separate events.
Record or confirm the dividend or distribution as income.
Record the later purchase using its actual trade date, quantity, price and any brokerage or fees.
Do not record the later purchase as a Dividend Reinvestment simply because the cash originally came from a dividend.
What Navexa Records
Navexa records dividends and distributions from your holding quantity, trade history and the income data available for the security.
Broker and CSV imports generally establish your investment history rather than importing every individual income payment from a broker account.
How Navexa Adds Dividends And Distributions explains how holding history and available income data are used.
A difference between Navexa and Superhero does not necessarily mean the underlying dividend is incorrect. It can be caused by the recorded quantity, dates, withholding tax, franking credits, currency or final broker information.
Why Dates Can Differ
Superhero may credit cash to your Wallet after the security’s official payment date, while Navexa records the underlying income event using the dates available for that security.
A small difference between the Superhero activity date and the Navexa payment date does not necessarily mean either record is wrong.
Check A Superhero Holding
Compare the same income event in both systems before editing the dividend or distribution.
In Superhero
Check the security, dividend or distribution amount, payment date and number of shares held.
Check withholding tax, franking information and currency where relevant.
Check whether any later buy trade used cash from the Wallet.
In Navexa
Open Portfolio and select the relevant holding.
Open the holding’s Income tab.
Check the ex-dividend date, paid date, quantity held, gross amount, withholding tax and franking credits.
Check whether Dividend Reinvested is enabled.
Open the holding’s Trades tab and check any separate buy trade.
If the quantity in Navexa is wrong, correct the trade history before changing the dividend itself.
Check An Unexpected DRP
A Dividend Reinvestment entry for a Superhero-held investment is worth checking because Superhero does not offer DRP.
Check whether DRP was enabled manually for the holding in Navexa.
Check whether a reinvestment was imported or added incorrectly.
Check whether Superhero paid cash and you later placed a separate buy order.
How to Enable or Disable Automatic Dividend Reinvestment (DRP) in Navexa explains how to review automatic DRP settings.
Tax And Franking
Superhero’s reports include dividend statements, Income Reports and AMIT or AMMA statements for eligible managed investment products.
Use the final broker, issuer or annual tax statement to reconcile tax information. Cash received can differ from the gross dividend because of withholding tax, franking credits, currency or other tax components.
Remember, this is general information, not personal financial advice.
When To Contact Support
If several Superhero dividends do not reconcile with Navexa, contact Navexa Support with one clear example before changing a large number of records.
Include the affected holding, Superhero amount, Navexa amount and relevant dates.
Attach a screenshot or Superhero statement showing the payment, where available.
