Overview
This guide shows you how to export your trades/transactions from CommSec as a CSV file and import them into Navexa. It’s quick, accurate and keeps your portfolio records tidy.
You’ll need to be logged in to CommSec on a desktop browser.
Before You Start
Make sure you can access your CommSec account on desktop.
Export one account at a time if you have multiple CommSec accounts.
Choose a date range that covers all the trades you want to import (we suggest from your first trade to today).
Save the file somewhere easy to find (e.g., Downloads or Desktop).
Direct link (login required): https://www2.commsec.com.au/Portfolio/transactions
Step 1 — Open the Transactions Page
(1 to 3 above)
Log in to CommSec.
Go to Portfolio (top navigation).
Click the Accounts sub‑tab, then the Transactions sub‑tab.
Step 2 — Pick Account and Date Range
(4)
If you have more than one account, select the correct account from the dropdown.
Set the From and To dates for the period you want to export.
Click Search to load transactions for that range.
Tip: For a complete history, set the earliest available date as your start date.
Step 3 — Download the CSV
(5)
Click Download.
Choose CSV.
Save the file to your computer.
Step 4 — Import Into Navexa
In Navexa, go to Data Imports → CSV File Upload.
Choose CommSec (Importer) if prompted.
Drag and drop your CommSec CSV file (or click Browse Files) and then Upload File.
Review and confirm the import. We crunch the numbers so you don’t have to.
What Gets Imported
Where provided in the CommSec CSV, Navexa reads common fields such as:
• Date/Time
• Code / Product (ticker)
• Transaction Type (Buy/Sell, etc.)
• Quantity / Units
• Price
• Amount / Consideration
• Brokerage / Fees (if included in your CSV)
After import, you can edit any transaction in Navexa if needed (for example, to add missing fees or notes).
Troubleshooting
I don’t see a Download button.
• Use a desktop browser (not the mobile app).
• Temporarily disable pop‑up blockers or extensions that may hide download menus.
My CSV is empty or missing trades.
• Extend the date range and click Search again.
• Make sure you’re on the correct account.
I have multiple files.
• Import them one at a time. Use non‑overlapping date ranges to avoid duplicate rows.
The file opens in Excel and saves as .xlsx.
• When saving, choose CSV (Comma delimited) so the file ends with .csv before you upload to Navexa.
Some transactions didn’t match as expected.
• Review the mapping during import and make sure the correct columns are selected.
• You can edit any transaction in Navexa after import.
