Filter, Group and Export Portfolio X-Ray

Select a report date, filter and group your exposures, change the chart and export Portfolio X-Ray to a spreadsheet.

Use the controls above Portfolio X-Ray to adjust the results for your selected portfolio.

Choose a Report Date

Select the date control and choose the date you want to view.

Changing the date updates the exposure results. Each fund’s underlying holdings may have an earlier Holdings as at date, and coverage can vary between report dates.

See Understanding Portfolio X-Ray Data and Coverage for the distinction between report dates and fund holdings dates.

Add Filters

  1. Select Filter.

  2. Choose a field, such as Sector, Country or Industry.

  3. Choose the available operator and select a value.

  4. Select Add filter if you need another condition.

When combining conditions, check whether they use AND or OR:

  • AND requires results to match both conditions.

  • OR allows results that match either condition.

Review the active filters if an investment or company is missing from the results.

For company searches and repeated exposures, see Find Company Exposure and Fund Overlap in Portfolio X-Ray.

Group the Results

Open the grouping menu above the report. Its button displays the current selection, such as Country or Sector.

Choose from:

  • None

  • Sector

  • Industry

  • Country

  • Exchange

  • Currency

  • Investment Type

Grouping by Currency changes how investments are grouped. Their values remain displayed in your portfolio’s base currency.

Change the Chart and Sort Order

Use the chart buttons to choose a view:

  • Treemap: larger tiles represent larger exposure values.

  • Bar chart: compare the size of exposures across positions or groups.

  • Doughnut chart: view the proportions represented by positions or groups.

Smaller entries may be combined into Other to keep the chart readable. Use the Positions table to inspect individual entries.

Select Name, % of portfolio or Value to change the table’s sort order.

Interpret Filtered Percentages

Company searches and shared-company views can show only part of your portfolio’s exposure.

Searching for one company does not make its portfolio percentage become 100%. Check Total and any “of” amount to understand how much exposure the filtered results represent.

Export to a Spreadsheet

  1. Set the report date, filters and grouping you want to use.

  2. Select Export.

  3. Select XLSX.

Open the downloaded file in a spreadsheet application.
