Use Portfolio X-Ray’s company breakdown to see how direct holdings and funds contribute to a particular exposure.
Find a Company’s Exposure
Open X-Ray for the portfolio you want to explore.
In Filter holdings or companies…, enter the company’s name or ticker.
Choose the Company result.
Under Positions, select the company’s row.
The search can return both Holding and Company results. Choose Company when you want to find company exposure across direct investments and funds.
Read the Company Breakdown
The company panel shows its combined value and percentage of portfolio exposure.
Under Held through, you can see the contributing investments, their values and their Share of the company’s exposure. Fund contributions are estimates, with a separate Holdings as at date for each fund.
Example shown with demonstration portfolio data.
The percentages describe different things:
The company’s headline percentage describes its share of total exposure in the report.
Share describes how much each source contributes to that company’s exposure.
A fund contributing 10% of your exposure to a company does not mean that contribution represents 10% of your whole portfolio.
Open a Contributing Fund
Select an ETF or fund name in the company breakdown.
The fund panel shows its holdings date, identified coverage and top holdings. Its % of fund figures describe the composition of that fund.
Select Open holding to open the fund’s holding page in your portfolio.
For an explanation of holdings dates and identified coverage, see Understanding Portfolio X-Ray Data and Coverage.
Find Positions Shared Between Funds
In a fund panel, find Overlap and select Show shared beside another fund.
X-Ray filters the report to positions held through both funds. Existing filters can also affect the results.
The displayed company values can still include direct holdings and contributions from other funds. Open a company’s row to see all its contributing sources.
To find positions held through multiple investments across your portfolio:
Select Filter.
Choose Held more than once.
Leave the operator as is.
Select the Held more than once value.
