Scenarios let you model hypothetical trades against your Navexa portfolio before you decide what to do. You can explore a possible sell, buy or swap and review the estimated tax, cash and portfolio effects in one place.
Each scenario is a private planning workspace. You can create several alternatives and compare their estimated outcomes without recording any of the trades in your portfolio.
What a scenario can show you
Net cash impact: the estimated cash raised or required after brokerage.
Capital gain realised: the estimated capital gain or loss created by the hypothetical sells.
Assessable gain: the estimated effect on the financial year's assessable capital gain after Navexa applies the relevant portfolio data, carried-forward losses and CGT treatment.
Portfolio allocation shift: how the hypothetical trades could change the relative weighting of the investments that remain.
Matched parcels: which purchase parcels Navexa has used for a hypothetical sell.
What a scenario does not do
A scenario does not place an order with your broker, create transactions in Navexa, change your holdings or update a Navexa Cash Account. The figures are estimates based on the portfolio data already recorded in Navexa and the hypothetical details you enter.
Navexa presents scenarios for comparison only. It does not recommend or rank scenarios, transactions or investment strategies.
Where to find Scenarios
Open the portfolio you want to model.
Go to Tax Reporting.
Under Tax Planning, select Scenarios.
Scenarios are currently available for supported Australian-dollar portfolios on eligible plans.
Before relying on a result
Check that your portfolio transactions, brokerage, dates, carried-forward capital losses and CGT settings are complete and correct. Also review the scenario's As of date and the time it was last calculated.
Scenario results are approximations for planning. Independently confirm the figures and speak with a qualified adviser if you need advice for your circumstances.
