Sync your Crypto Exchange Account

Learn how to connect a crypto exchange to Navexa with API keys, choose the portfolio to sync into, and keep your crypto trades updated automatically.

Connect your crypto exchange account to Navexa so your trades can sync into the correct portfolio automatically.

Before You Start

Before linking a crypto exchange account, make sure you have:

  • A Navexa portfolio ready to sync trades into.

  • Access to your crypto exchange account.

  • API keys from your crypto exchange.

  • Read-only API permissions, where your exchange supports them.

Read-only API keys are recommended because they allow Navexa to retrieve trade data without giving trading or withdrawal access.

Link Your Crypto Exchange

  1. Choose the portfolio you want to add crypto holdings to.

  2. From the left-hand side menu, click Portfolio.

  3. Click the blue + Add Holdings button in the top-right corner.

  4. Find your crypto exchange.

    You can:

    • Search for your exchange in the search bar.

    • Select it from the list if it appears.

    • Click View All Brokers to see the full list of supported brokers and exchanges.

  5. Select your crypto exchange.

  6. Choose Direct Account Link or the available account connection option for that exchange.

  7. Enter the API details from your exchange account.

Depending on the exchange, this may include:

    • API Key

    • Secret Key or Private Key

    • An optional Account Nickname

  8. Select the portfolio you want the exchange account to sync into.

  9. Choose when Navexa should start syncing from.

Depending on the exchange, you may be able to sync:

    • From the beginning of available history

    • From today onward

    • From a custom date

  10. Click Link Account.

After Linking Your Exchange

After you link your crypto exchange, Navexa will begin syncing your trades into the selected portfolio.

The first sync usually starts within a few minutes. Where possible, Navexa will retrieve up to the last 12 months of trade history or more, depending on what your exchange makes available through its API.

Once the connection is active, new trades from your exchange will sync into Navexa automatically.

API Key Tips

When creating API keys in your crypto exchange account:

  • Use read-only permissions where possible.

  • Do not enable withdrawal permissions.

  • Do not enable trading permissions unless specifically required.

  • Copy the API key and secret key carefully.

  • Check for extra spaces when pasting keys into Navexa.

  • Save the keys securely if your exchange only shows them once.

Navexa needs access to your trade history so it can add the correct buy and sell transactions to your portfolio.

Common Issues

Why Can’t I Find My Exchange?

If you cannot find your crypto exchange, use the search bar or click View All Brokers to check the full list.

If the exchange is not listed, it may not currently be supported for direct sync. You may still be able to track the holdings manually or use another import method if available.

Why Hasn’t My Account Synced Yet?

If your crypto exchange account has not synced yet, wait a few minutes after linking it.

If it still has not synced, check that:

  • The API key is active.

  • The API key has read access.

  • The secret or private key was copied correctly.

  • The correct portfolio was selected.

  • The exchange account contains supported trade data.

Why Is Some History Missing?

Some crypto exchanges limit how much historical trade data can be retrieved through their API.

Where possible, Navexa will retrieve the last 12 months of data or more. If the exchange does not provide full history through the API, older trades may need to be added another way.
